Symptom-rubric arrangement of the case analysis

When you have listened to your patient’s story and put it down together with your questions and answers to these questions, you’ll have to read your notes and find important symptoms of the case.

Each case record will contain a lot of unimportant symptoms that are too common or too general, but a carefully taken case will always have a number of symptoms that build up the “sick image” of the case. However, it may be difficult to understand at once which symptoms refer to the case and which should be left out.

We suggest that you do it in the following way, so that you don’t lose any symptoms of importance:

Read your records carefully. While reading, select any symptom of interest with your mouse and send it to the analysis section with the right mouse click. Don’t be afraid to add too many symptoms to the analysis section: you are now doing preliminary work, and it is always better to keep in mind something seemingly unimportant than to leave out a symptom that will perfectly fit the case.

Now that you have selected all symptoms of interest from your case notes, open the repertory and start translating the symptoms into its language. To do this, go through the list of symptoms one by one and look for repertory rubrics that correspond to the current symptom. Mind that there may be more than one rubric for the symptom, and make sure to add all these rubrics to your case analysis. Later you’ll be able to tweak the analysis results, include or exclude repertory rubrics and change weight of symptoms.

Note that your rubrics aren’t just added to the analysis section – you have the option of attaching them to corresponding symptoms. If you do so, the result of your work will be clearly structured and it will be much easier to analyze the case under study. This is another unique feature offered by Homeopathy Pro and highly appreciated by our users.
